A Personal Note of Thanks:
This voice note is a personal message from me to you, expressing my heartfelt thanks and sharing some reflective thoughts on this Thanksgiving holiday.
Gratitude, a value deeply ingrained in us, often focuses on the blessings we have already evidenced, yet there is a profound power in being grateful for the unseen—for the prospect of what is yet to come. Gratitude has always been one of my guiding principles, a beacon reminding me to cherish not only what is material and present in my life, but also the unseen possibilities that lie ahead. This form of gratitude goes beyond hope or optimism, it's about having an unwavering faith in life's journey, essentially belief.
Earlier this week, while on a call with my mindset coach, she brought up the idea of being thankful for the unseen things in life, and I have been deeply pondering the thought ever since. From my own experiences, I have come to realize that some of the most significant gifts in life are those that have not yet come into view. By adopting this way of thinking we are encouraged to appreciate the process, not just the outcome. In a similar way, I often highlight the importance of establishing good systems (our daily habits and routines) versus placing an emphasis on the goal itself, as a good system will naturally lead you toward your desired result.
It's about finding joy and lessons in the here and now, while also keeping our hearts open to the possibilities of the future. This approach is what allows us to grow, to learn, and to evolve.
As we gather with friends and loved ones or take some much-needed time for rest this Thanksgiving holiday, here are a few thoughtful prompts to consider, helping you explore ways to be thankful for the blessings that have yet to come:
-What are some future aspirations or dreams you have that you can start expressing gratitude for today, and how might this shift in perspective influence your current mindset and actions?
-Can you think of a time when an unexpected outcome turned out to be a blessing in disguise? How does reflecting on this experience help you cultivate gratitude for the unknown possibilities in your future?
-How can practicing gratitude for the unseen help you in embracing life's uncertainties with more optimism and resilience?
Embracing gratitude for the unseen is a powerful declaration of our strength and resilience. It acts as a reminder that our journey is characterized not by the destinations we reach, but by the choices we make and the paths we follow along the way.
As we enter the holiday season and approach the coming year, let us hold onto the conviction that even in the unseen parts of our future, there lies immense promise, opportunities for growth, and boundless potential.
I am so incredibly grateful for each of you. Thank you for the shares and personal notes of encouragement and support.
Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
With Love & Grace,
Nakia
